Senior Congress leader and former Member of Parliament CP Joshi on Friday won the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) presidential elections.
Joshi outnumbered former RCA chairman Lalit Modi’s son Ruchir Modi by a margin of five votes.
The election was conducted on 29 May 2017 and the counting was done under the eye of ombudsman Gyansudha Mishra on Friday.
The RCA elections this year was contested amid controversies and thus the Rajasthan High Court granted permission for the counting of votes under the presence of Mishra.
Moreover, it was a contest between Ruchir and Joshi, who has also been the president of the RCA in the past. Of 33 votes in total, Joshi bagged 19 while 14 went in favour of Ruchir.
